...is it, how little resonance the U.S. midterm elections had on my radar.
As you may know I tend not to follow mainstream media, so I was expecting far more echoes from the net. Especially from the italian-speaking part of the blogosphere.
This may lead to two conclusions: 1) my acquaintances in Italy are not concerned about international politics 2) (mass) media coverage there hasn't been so strong. Which is quite curious, since we have now a left-winged government that should at least cheer at the elections' results.
But as we (sadly) know, probably due to a reaction against previous trend, current leftwing in Italy is not so interested/well-versed in communication. Dangerous.
How curious

ok, mi lancio con l'inglese!
dunque...
Enrico Deaglio and Beppe Cremagnani have published a video on the last italian political elections. The point is that according to them most of the blank votes were magically shifted to Forza Italia by a software directly run by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The “game” was then stopped during the night and the result was the winning of the leftwing coalition with around 25,000 votes on Forza Italia & friends. What it is really curious is that normally the average percentage of blank votes is around 4.5%, while in the last elections it was about 1.5%.
The silence of the right does not surprise me. That of the left does. For the Italian political class an attack on democracy of this seriousness is of little account..
