HyperHyper, Hyper*, Hypever0
HyperText06 (or, to tell it all, Seventeenth ACM Conference on Hypertext and Hypermedia) is over.
I'm jottng a few notes down before leaving Odense toward Copenaghen for the weekend, "powered by" the CanICrash initiative.
The notes themselves will be a little bit scattered: I'll try to keep personal considerations here, and pushing the results of the workshop on headshift moments. Moreover, I'm uploading material from the workshop on its wiki, where hopefully the conversation will go on.
For the time being (I have a train to catch in an hour), let's just say it's been a good experience.
I especially enjoyed the "overlapping" between HT06 and WikiSym: once again, contamination is good for both parties.
I had also the chance to learn a lot about the academic world, both for the good and less good.
And of course as usual the people are the most interesting part of the conference: I spoke far more Italian than I expected, met Mark Bernstein once again, and realized that TV is an important social aggregator even in the geek community. Even moreso.
At the end of the (three) day(s), there was this infectious meme of "find the name of the next hyper thing". One of the first I suggested was HyperHype, but I'm afraid the audience was too serious about the subject to accept that degree of self-irony: they groaned at me. Then came out with hyper* and hyperhyper, and these bounced a little more. What about Hypever? I really love this :)
Update: if you're craving for notes on the conference, Alvin has some really well done ones.
